What Is Microneedling Radiofrequency?
Microneedling radiofrequency is a cosmetic treatment that uses two proven effective techniques at once: microneedling and radiofrequency (RF) energy. The microneedling half of the treatment involves puncturing the skin with very tiny needles, and the radiofrequency aspect heats the tissue of the skin with radiofrequency energy.
When the two are put together, treatment can achieve fantastic results to tighten skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines. Lutronic Genius® microneedling radiofrequency is commonly combined with other cosmetic treatments such as Kybella®, Botox®, and dermal fillers, although they can’t be performed on the same day.

What Are the Benefits of Lutronic Genius® Treatment?
At Clarkston Dermatology, we chose the Lutronic Genius® system for its advanced features and proven results. By creating more collagen and elastin thanks to its advanced collagen-induction technique, the Lutronic Genous® can safely and effectively increase the levels of anti-aging skin proteins, resulting in not only an improvement to the appearance of the skin, but to the overall health of the skin too. Lutronic Genius® also delivers a faster and more comfortable experience than other microneedling systems with smaller needles.
What Can Radiofrequency Microneedling Treat?
There are a wide range of common skin conditions that the Lutronic Genius® treatment can either improve or correct, such as the following:
- Acne scars and other types of scarring
- Age spots
- Enlarged pores
- Issues with skin texture
- Sagging skin or skin laxity
- Stretch marks
- Sun damage
- Wrinkles and fine lines
What Is Microneedling Radiofrequency Recovery Like?
Ultimately, the kind of downtime you face following your microneedling radiofrequency treatment will depend on the length of the needles and the density of the needles that were used in your procedure. You can expect that, for around 24 to 48 hours after the procedure, your skin will be pink or red, similar to sunburn (although with some minor bleeding and usually some mild bruising).
Your skin may also feel somewhat warm, itchy, or tight for a bit, though any inflammatory reaction from the procedure should be gone after only a few days. Patients may experience some peeling if they underwent a more aggressive treatment, and those with more sensitive skin types may need as long as a week to fully recover. Usually, it can take between six to eight weeks to see the results of the skin regeneration. Your results will continue to develop over the following six to 10 months, improving gradually.
