What Is Cellfina™?
Cellfina™ is not one of countless cellulite creams just waiting for its turn to collect dust on your bathroom shelf. It is not packed with seaweed, nor is it going to temporarily tighten away your lumps and bumps with caffeine. It is also not a frighteningly invasive cellulite surgery with painful days or weeks of recovery time. It is truly, in our opinion, the best answer for how to get rid of cellulite for many of our patients.
How Much Does Cellfina™ Cost in Clarkston, MI?

What Is Cellulite?
To understand why it is so difficult to get rid of cellulite, it helps to understand exactly what it is. Simply put, cellulite is tiny bulges of fat that are sticking out between the network of connective tissue (septae) that holds fat in place. Women have thinner skin than men, and the strands of connective tissue that hold our fat together under our skin are fewer and less tightly strung than men. Because of this, cellulite primarily affects women.
Even at an ideal body weight, women carry more body fat than men, with up to approximately 25 percent generally considered well within the healthy range. Women also tend to carry more of this body fat in their hips, thighs, and buttocks than men do, which helps explain why a woman with a healthy body fat percentage can have issues with cellulite, while even a very overweight man typically does not.
All of the above works together to create the necessity for a cellulite treatment to smooth things over. The septae holding our fat in place isn’t as strong as men’s septae, and we have fewer "strands" of it, allowing the fat to bulge out between them. The skin on top of these tiny bulges is thinner than men’s skin, making what’s going on beneath the skin all the more apparent.
And we carry more of our body fat in these areas than men to begin with, with our ideal body fat percentage being much higher than theirs. The cards are simply stacked in the favor of cellulite (and men)! But luckily, you have the wild card necessary to win; the wild card cellulite never saw coming. You have Cellfina™, one of the best cellulite treatment options currently available.
How Do I Get Rid of Cellulite?
It’s a Google search thousands of women are making every day. To be certain, cellulite is one of the most common, most noticeable skin conditions that affects women, and occasionally men. While cellulite is not harmful unto itself, many women seek cellulite treatment due to its unsightly appearance, and supremely stubborn nature.
Cellulite often persists even when you are eating a healthy, balanced diet and exercising regularly. Genetics play a significant role in cellulite development as well, so for many, targeted cellulite treatment is the most effective solution to diminishing the dimples for good. While we can all agree that dimples can be downright adorable on your face, most of us aren’t too thrilled when they crop up on our bottom and thighs! Cellfina™ helps you say farewell to those dimples for a very long time with lasting results that so many patients are truly excited about.
How Does Cellfina™ Work?
Cellfina™ cellulite treatment employs a very thin blade to release the connective strands that create the bulging, dimpling effect of cellulite. Because cellulite is much more apparent when standing, the doctor will have you stand in a relaxed manner so she can mark the areas of your buttocks and/or thighs that need treating. She will also take pictures to guide her through the procedure as some of your cellulite dimples may disappear when you lay down for the Cellfina™ treatment.
Once the areas that need treatment are prepped and cleaned, the doctor will administer a local anesthetic using a unique Cellfina™ template that guides the needle perfectly, ensuring adequate overlap of the areas to be treated for complete numbness during the procedure. There will be some mild discomfort while the anesthetic is injected, with thighs being a bit more sensitive than buttocks.
If your dentist has ever numbed an area of your mouth to provide treatment, you will likely find this is less uncomfortable than that was. This same template will be used throughout the procedure, with the doctor adjusting its location as necessary. If cellulite dimples are close to one another, they can be treated together without any template adjustment. As such, the cellulite treatment is completed much more quickly than most patients imagine is possible, and you’ll be on your way to cellulite-free skin in no time at all.
